Death has brought me into a true relationship with myself and mortality. Witnessing my mother’s death has opened my eyes to the miracle of existence. It has taken my hard edges and softened them. It's easy to love people who want our love and need our love. It’s easy to feel compassion towards someone with a broken heart or someone going through a difficult situation in life. It’s much harder to love those who do not want our love. People who in return for your kindness show no gratitude. It’s much harder to show kindness, compassion and grace towards people who knowingly push us away. We all know someone like that, be it a parent, a relative, a brother, a friend or a spouse. This someone makes you feel like affection is always one-sided, like you are the only one putting in the effort and working hard at the relationship. Like the love, attention, care you give is not reciprocal. Their behavior is often cold, dry and harsh, leaving you feeling like they don’t need your love and your attention. They push you away with brashness and rigidity, and give off vibes of being uninterested. But the most baffling thing is that these are the people that need our love the most. They need our affection, our time, our sentiment, our attention. Their inner child is hiding somewhere deep inside for reasons that may not even be apparent to us. Years of building protection around their heart have made them create blocks that seem to be impossible to unblock. Nevertheless, know that their heart and that place of tenderness and authenticity is still there somewhere under layers of protection, and needs love even more. Even though they may seem like they do not care, they do. It’s just that the walls they’ve built around their hearts constraint them, making them unable to let their guard down and show their sensitive side. I always thought of myself as a loving person, but what I realize today is that I showed love towards people who were easy to love. I loved those who asked for love, who needed love. Now I’m learning to love those who hide their need for love behind their giant walls of protection, people full of thorns, that prickle and hurt. I always have to remind myself that God loves everyone. So I’m learning to love everyone, especially ones that are not so easy to love.

I practice gratitude in the mornings after I wake up. I sit in a comfortable position close my eyes and start thanking God and the Universe. For the fact that I woke up this morning, that I can take full breaths, that I have a new day ahead of me, for a chance to see, feel, breathe, taste. I am thankful for my emotional state, for the weather outside, for people in my life, for people who inspire me to be better, for my teachers and guides, for situations that life brings and lessons each one of them teaches me, for the health of my family, for yesterday and the day before and the millions of other reasons that exist. I whisper this or say it in my mind with my hands folded at my heart center. It’s a prayer of gratitude to life. The energetic charge I feel after this, the way my heart opens and the way my emotional state shifts is incredible. Its easy, just remembering and going through every one of the reasons you have to be happy, makes you realize how much you already have to be grateful for, to smile, to feel happy, to fall in love with life every single day. I encourage you to try and practice this daily for 21 days and see what shifts happen for you.

Old patterns do not give up easily, they will try to keep pulling you into reactions that lead into repeating the past. Many forms of modern-day love contain conditions, meaning that we have an idea that we want those we feel deeply for to fulfill. Sometimes we don’t see our hopes and expectations for the ones closest to us as conditional forms of self love, because we perceive what we want for them as “good”. Unknowingly, in our wanting of what is “best” for them we limit our ability to give from the finest and most powerful form of love, a selfless love that empowers them to decide for themselves what is best for you there lives. So much of what we think is love is actually attachment and expectation. Focusing on giving in our relationships isn’t easy; it is a habit that requires strengthening, repetition, healing our minds, and allowing our selfless nature to come forward for it to become our new normal. There is a special harmony that arises when two people focus on giving more to each other, a subtle communication and growing awareness between them that allows for better understanding of each other’s happiness. We may worry, “how will I ensure that what I desire is met?” a better question may be, “has solely focusing on meeting our desires truly brought me happiness?” The happiest people are the ones who have truly purified their minds of all conditioning and craving. They tend to have such strong compassion and understanding of love that their lives naturally focus on giving to others. In this giving and clarity of mind they find happiness. PART 2: Motherhood lessons. I started to feel the familiar emotions of feeling truly sorry for myself or clinging to feeling like a victim. That my day had been ruined, that nothing could pull me out of this right now and why Is this happening to me? Why am I facing this challenge today, what did I do to deserve it? I had to push myself to sit down into a meditation, my mind fought against it, I did everything I could to find a reason NOT to do it. Somehow I made it through the meditation. I did my kundalini practice first thanks to my incredible instructor @lauriejcomo and my beautiful friend @naomieharris for recording it for us. I followed my practice with a deep meditation led by my wonderful teacher and guide Stas Balarama. I burst into tears and cried and cried and cried for the entire duration of my meditation. I felt this was the first time I actually connected to this meditation and felt the true meaning of it. I released so much through my tears that it felt that I was letting go of some of my old trauma, stuff from childhood, walls I’ve built up, blockages and barriers I’ve carefully built around my heart for years. All that came flowing through me like a river. I felt a shift, answers came to me, I was able to see things clearly, I learned lessons and finally I was able to reflect. The reason I write this post today is to give you one tiny example of how powerful meditation truly is. How powerful connecting back to yourself and looking for answers within truly is. That no friend, psychiatrist or family member can give you truer answers to your dilemmas than your own heart. I want to leave you with this message: Look within for answers, listen to your gut instinct find your way back home to your heart. Sending so much love to every single one of you.

Daniel was being very feisty this morning and was playing rough when I asked him to apologize to the child he didn’t want to do it so I said I’d take him upstairs ( to have a chat ) he refused to go and started screaming. So I told him he had a choice to walk up the stairs or that I would pick up his body and carry him. (always trying to offer them a choice and be respectful even where we need to be firm) He didn’t respond so I said ok since you won’t choose I’ll choose for you and he still refused to listen so I picked him up but when we got upstairs and I locked the door so we could talk he started hitting me,and he’s a big boy so it was not light, the way I handled it was not my proudest moment,my old patterns of behavior kicked in, my ego kicked in, I felt hurt, I felt I was emotionally attaching myself to this situation and I felt I needed him to know that what he did was wrong, where evaluating this situation now that I’ve had time to breathe through it and reflect, no doubt the way he acted was wrong but he’s 4 and he will push boundaries and make mistakes and learn life in this way, and it’s my job as a mother to offer support to let him lean in and to lead by example,that me sitting in a room with him trying to teach him a lesson was not the best decision making on my part. All I did was let my ego take over and make myself feel validated in some way. As a result I felt empty, I felt I had not achieved a thing or taught him a lesson I wanted so desperately to teach him. I was clinging, clinging to the idea that I must prove something to him, what could I possibly want to prove to a 4 year old? And in that moment I was blinded by this fire the emotions rising up and raging inside of me feeling disrespected, hurt, disappointed, defeated..I was unable to understand then that all I was doing was battling with myself and my own ego my own fears and my old patterns. When I walked away from that situation I was still feeling the fire inside me burning to the point that even with deep breathing I could not bring myself to reevaluate my behavior I started to feel the familiar emotions of feeling truly sorry for myself or clinging to feeling like a victim……

You are loved for just being who you are, just for existing. Your shortcomings, your lack of self- esteem, physical perfection, or social and economic success — none of that matters. No one can take this love away from you, and it will always be here. This love is actually a part of you, is it always flowing through you, permeating your every movement and every thought, dissolving into your every cell. It’s like the subatomic texture of the universe, the dark matter that connects everything. When u tune into that flow; you will feel it in your own heart - not your physical heart or your emotional heart, but your spiritual heart, the place you point to in your chest when you say; “ I am.” When you arrive at this place revel in this sweet love knowing it flows in abundance from your heart whenever you become present to it. The key is knowing that it’s always there waiting for you to remember. Let the love flow from your being like the golden rays of the sun, and as it overflows it will pour into the hearts of others, awakening love within them. Unconditional love exists as a part of our deep inner being. It’s not “ I love you” for this or that reason, not “I love you if you love me.” It’s love for no reason, love without an object. It’s just sitting in love, the state of being love.

Good morning beautiful community. I have this deep earning to shine light and love through this platform and have that love touch each and every one of you no matter where you are in your life, or what you are faced with in this moment in time. So today I’d love to start our day with something beautiful, something positive and warm, so that from the very inception of the day we can set an intention for our day to surround us in kindness. This intention will be our guiding light towards love and internal light that will flow through us and into the universe. A friend of mine shared this beautiful practice to set the mood for the day that I want to share with all of you. So I ask each one of you to comment below with a positive affirmation that you would love to be your reflection of this new coming day. Start it with an “I”, so that a person reading it below could relate to it, feel it, and apply it to themselves. An example: I feel gratitude every second of the day. I feel loved and supported and I feel harmony all around me. I release everything that is old and stale that no longer serves me.

Healing is done in layers. You have to continue to spiral through the same emotional experiences until there is no electric charge left to trigger you. Bottom line is that you are whole, you are connected, you are not alone. Only ego, beliefs and fears make you feel like you are separated or alone. One of our duties on this planet is to dissolve the negative emotions associated with negative memories while we motivate ourselves and other people. So every time you feel triggered, challenged or pushed to the limit.. ask yourself if you want to be prisoner to your past or the pioneer of your future ? Because the moment you will change your perception on this is the moment you will physically rewire the chemistry of your body. Because you are an electromagnetic being that’s emitting frequency. So allow only those things that are vibrating on the same frequency as you come into your existence. Every single person, event, and circumstance in your day is telling you what frequency you are on at that particular moment in time. So when you feel like you are over giving, over working, and pushing yourself to the limit- beyond what’s sustainable. Stop for a moment, and ask yourself- what would I feel if I were to slow down ? Often it’s the deepest moments of pain that empowers us to grow into our higher self. Change is inevitable but transformation is by conscious choice. So remember that brokenness gives birth to transformation and wisdom. And remember that all abundance starts in the mind.

Generally speaking we regard discomfort in any form as bad news. But feelings like disappointment, embarassment, irritation , resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear instead of being bad news are actually very clear moments that teach us what it is that we are holding back. Most of us do not take these situations as teachings. We automatically hate them. We run like crazy. We use all kinds of ways to escape. Reaching our limit is not some kind of punishment. We don’t become undone by fear, we take it as a message that it’s time to stop struggling and look directly at what’s threatening us. The point is to lean towards the discomfort of life and see it clearly rather than to protect ourselves from it. Just being with our experience, whatever it is- that’s the teaching right there. We can be with what’s happening and not dissociate. Awareness Is found in our pleasure and our pain, our confusion and our wisdom, available in each moment of our weird, unfathomable, ordinary everyday lives.

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know “ I used to only focus on positive in life but what I have learned on my journey is that life is a two sided coin and we have to be able to face and see the negative as well. Generally speaking we regard discomfort in any form as bad news. We are taught by society to suppress the negative emotions, and that feeling pessimistic is unfavorable and bad. But feelings like disappointment, embarassment, irritation , resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear instead of being bad news are actually very clear moments that teach us what it is that we are holding back. There is beauty both in positive and in negative, because life is beautiful, because even the challenges we face in life are there to teach us the lessons we need to learn. I feel this wholeheartedly now, having lost my mom and questioning why this ever happened to me. I know today that I may never realize the full purpose of life putting me on that journey of pain and suffering, but I do see that I learned so much from it. It shaped who I am today, it taught me lessons I would have never learned on my own and i am now a more stronger empathetic person because of it. What I learned today is that there is beauty in both good and bad, that we must not run away but face both sides of the coin that is called life and appreciate all of it, not just the positive. Life happens for you not to you.

To be happy don’t close your heart, but instead stay open. Live your life fully. Don’t make compromises or play games with yourself. Come to peace within yourself. Every moment of your life matters. That’s what happens when someone knows they only have 1 week left to live. All of a sudden, everything becomes a million times more meaningful in that final week. But what if u were to live every week of your life that way? Why are you not living that way? You know you’re going to die one day, you just don’t know when...To live your life that way you don’t have to change your life, you just have to change how you live your life. It’s not what you are doing, but how you are doing it. Be willing to live life fully. Be willing to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done. Be willing to be fully present without being afraid about what’s going to happen in the next moment. Learn to live as though you are facing death at all times. And if you live your life fully you won’t have any last wishes, because you would have loved every moment of it.
