I hear Scott tried to get this show made for 15 years but all networks wanted another actor for the lead. So glad he waited as he is superb in it. Incredibly subtle and an inspiration. Soloing is an interesting thing. You have to know the changes (chords) the harmonic structure. You should have nice phrasing and feel and on vibes you have to try to put what you would play with 10 fingers on a piano into two and four mallets. You also need to just relax and blow. Like Wayne shorter said about jazz ‘I dare you!’ So go for it there are no mistakes just you’re heart ear and feel x

Incredibly upset to wake up to the news that my old friend #johnsessions has passed away. I will miss our chats john. An incredibly kind and talented man john was extremely supportive to me over the years. I’m not sure he was fully aware of the huge amount of talent bestowed on him. He was incredibly dedicated to his craft perhaps not getting the ‘luck’ some others do to get the platform they deserve to show their talent . A great great actor. I do remember his joy at working for one of his fav’s De Niro on the good shepherd and the tales he would tell of his filming experiences. Known for his comedy roles and his extraordinary impersonations ( his Alan Rickman was phenomenal) I will remember him as a kind man that always had time to help and listen. Rest in peace John. Xxxxxxx

This has made me laugh for 15 mins. It’s the guys reaction on the deck ..... ‘hey billy’. Oh my god I’ve never laughed this hard.

So I guess I’m committed to this from tomorrow. I have been lucky to have @grantrobertsfit as a friend and trainer. He is the best I’ve ever worked with and I’ve made this little number up from some of his advice. Hope I’ve got it right grant ! Along with strength training, diet is obviously key. In fact I’d say if one had to quantify it, diet 75% training 25%. With my job as an actor sometimes you have to gain and sometimes loose fat, I say fat as I don’t like the term ‘weight loss’ muscle weighs more than fat. It’s a science but for it to work you really do have to work your arse off in the gym too, and SLEEP something I struggle with when stress levels are higher than normal hence the 3:18am post ! The biggest enemy .... sugar. Meditation is also key. Here we go !!!!

Dusting the cobwebs off the piano

So ever since I first worked in Italy I fell in love with the country. The architecture the food the people the ambiance. I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over the country and have been wanting to learn the language for 30 years. I’m gonna do it ! It’s a magical place and a beautiful musical language and I really think the @rosettastone method is terrific. Obviously one has to go there often to keep in verbal shape but that’s not a bad thing !!
