Happy Monday! In an attempt to snack healthily I’m making my own hummus inspired by my wonderful Israel trip. You’ll need: • 1 tin of chickpeas, (drained) • 1 lemon (squeezed) • 1 garlic clove • 1 tsp fine salt 🧂 • 2 Tbsp. olive oil ️ Whizz everything together in a blender. The hummus will last refrigerated for a few days! And is a great source of protein, fibre & healthy fats. Bon appetite!

I would like to say we hiked up Masada but in 40 degree heat 🥵 we took the lift. The view was spectacular. You’ll find the ruins of King Herod’s mountaintop fortress & last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 73 C.E. on Masada (450 meters high) in the middle of the desert Nuts! @visit_israel

SoulCycle has arrived in the U.K. - it officially launched in London on Wednesday & it was soulful!! No phones were allowed during class to ensure we fully immersed ourselves in the class. I reviewed SoulCycle on the blog 6yrs ago in NYC & the teachers last night were just as energetic, inspirational, committed & positive as I remember them being back then. Spinning definitely delivers a great cardio session For me the best bit was the music 🕺

Road biking requires absolute concentration - ‘being in the now’. Yet before you know it, the repetitive and soothing motion has allowed you to drift off, to have ‘lost yourself in the moment’, then to have returned after a few kilometres, wondering how you got here... the mind feels cleansed 🧘‍♀ It’s a wonderful form of meditative exercise allowing you to collect your thoughts, whilst training the body too @stpierredeserjac @veloroo

IMPROVE SQUAT MOBILITY! If your squat feels uncomfortable in the hips, knees/ankles or if you struggle w/ squat form, static stretching of the hip isn't necessarily always the best way to get you deep-squatting comfortably. Instead of stretching, its worth investing time on stability & strengthening exercises. ———————————————————————— 1️⃣Standing hip flexor exercise - by strengthening the hip flexors, you more readily squat down to 90+ degrees. Stand tall, (option to hold on to wall). Aim to lift the hip straight up & down. If your hip flexors are weak, your knee may drift sideways; avoid arching the back, & only lift at the knee. Try to raise the knee as high as possible without flexing your back. ———————————————————————— 2️⃣The hip flexor march: can be done on the floor. Keep the lower back flat against the ground & lift the knee towards the chest. Avoid letting the knee float off to the side. You should feel the quads & hip flexors working really hard to lift that knee. ———————————————————————— 3️⃣Glute bridge: use a single leg for this exercise as it's great for reducing imbalances. Hug one knee to the chest & drive through the heel extending the hip. Instead of arching the back to complete the bridge, pull the pelvis towards the ceiling & really connect w/ the gluteus contraction. Don't rush, focus on controlling the range of motion, & hold the big squeeze at the top for a perfect rep. ———————————————————————— 4️⃣Internal, external & forward calf stretches. ———————————————————————— ️The overhead squat: finally brining everything together, get into an overhead squat. This is an awesome exercises! Spine stability and ankle and hip mobility! Wearing @sweatybetty @adidas
