Icy cold, perfectly crisp, shockingly green cucumber snacks on sticks at markets and on every menu. Can somebody please import this trend to New York?

Oh hey, it seems like that last one was my 4,000th post. What a road it’s been. Can’t believe this app has been around for almost 8 years! It started out feeling like a wondrous intimate village and quickly grew to a dazzling booming metropolis. Lately I’m not quite sure what to make of the latest incarnation (bland corporate office park?) but I am so very thankful for all the exceptional folks I’ve met along the way. I very much appreciate you all for stopping by and following along. Oh, and here’s some bamboo . . . #bamboo #bambooforest #kyoto #japan

Some bastard stole my friend @crayolaing‘s fabulous umbrella. Luckily I have photographic reference of it from that day we strolled down the prettiest Parisian streets.

Lately I’ve been fully focused on a series of big projects. They’re forcing me to learn and adapt at a furious pace that is exhilarating and exceptionally challenging and a little bit scary. The work has been requiring most of my time and most of my brain, resulting in very little creative energy left over for photography and frankly almost no appetite for social media. I know I’ve been letting too many texts and e-mails go unanswered, I’m trying to catch up I swear. Sincere thanks to those who have reached out to check in with me , and to my dear husband for making me dinner

Our foggy Chicago left me nostalgic for the time before New York traded its warm atmospheric street lights for cold piercing LEDs. Enjoy it while you can, Chicago! Spotted a few that have already begun to switch over.

Feeling fortunate to have snagged a last-minute table at Alinea last night . It was a wonder of an experience, from the abstract menu design, to the centerpieces that came alive with fire and vapor, to being whisked down to the kitchen for a course served in the midst of the complex dance of dozens of people creating and serving incredible food. What a night! . . . #alinea #chicago #alineachicago #foodporn #travelstoke #traveldeeper #liquidnitrogen

Was totally delighted by my first visit to Mass MoCA. Tough to tear myself away from the way this Anish Kapoor piece warped light and sound.
