LEG DAY is a unique animal! 🥵 If you do it right.. it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been training you’ll be sitting slowly the next day! Haha OUCHIE!! If you are looking for more growth in the lower body department. I would recommend doing 2 leg days a week and splitting them into quads (and inner thighs) and hamstrings (and glutes) When I started taking a dual approach to leg day, I started to see a drastic change in my legs! If you want to stick to your current split I would recommend that you are alternating these exercises into your leg routine! —————————————————— Here are 3 of my FAVORITE QUAD BUILDING movements! LEG EXTENSION: 3 sets of 10 drop sets changing the weight as you drop (or up) each set. For example: first set of 10 reps at 110lbs then without rest either up your weight one or drop your weight one. Complete 3 rounds of this 1-2 min rest between each drop set. ELEVATED HEALS SMITH MACHINE SQUAT: (heels are elevated and together here/toes are pointed outward - this helps you really target the quads) slow and controlled movement here and you go down into a squat using your toes to push your way back up. 10-12 reps x 4 rounds (first round is used more so as a warm up, to find your weight and get familiar with the motion) QUAD SWEEP LEG LRESS: Spread your legs more than shoulder width apart and slightly point your toes out. I always do about 3-4 rounds and at least 12 reps depending on the rep range in hitting that’s day! —————————————————— WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE QUAD BUILDING EXERCISES AND HOW DO YOU TRAIN LEGS? Real RAW leg day! MUST TRY Training with @markgarcia_elev8 and we are focusing on the peach I focus on glutes / hamstrings once a week and then I also dedicate another leg day for quads and inner thighs! I was always the girl who signed up for workout classes.. “The Booty Sculpt” - “30 minute Abs” all of which didn’t lift a substantial amount of weight nor did I learn anything at the time about what I was doing.. I just listened to the instructor ahead. Sure I went into the gym but I never went beyond the cardio machines or group classes. I was afraid that lifting weights would make you look manly and quite frankly because I had no idea what I was doing I didn’t want to look ridiculously clueless in front of the entire weight room. . 2012 was the first time I gained a bit more courage, stepped into the gym and actually lifted weights. 7 years ago my life was a complete mess. I didn’t feel like I had a purpose, I felt lost and hopeless. I had always felt like I was made for more but my heart didn’t know what direction to go. . Fast forward to 7 long years of embracing the journey I promised myself to make. I am happier than I’ve ever been and my life has more than I could ever ask for. It’s a magical thing when you decide to get outside your comfort zone and inside a lane that‘s laser focused on being more than than you think you are or deserve. 7 years ago I was working jobs I hated, was in relationships that didn’t uplift me and my life reflected what I thought I was worthy of. Since stepping into the gym and putting myself and my health first, my mind became more clear and I yearned for more in every area of my life. . I promise you are not alone in your journey whether you’re feeling hopeless or lost and just beginning your journey, we all start somewhere BUT the important thing is that we START AND WE KEEP ON GOING! ️ —————————————Photo by: @ajkphotography1

I've been thinking about its true meaning, what are we are placed here for, the purpose and the trials and tribulations that make us who we are. Are we here to do work for the love of it? Do we sacrifice a smidge of our happiness to be able to be successful? Are we here to live up to others expectations? Are we suppose to settle? Where we might dislike our job, the place we live or the environment around us but at least we're comfortable and surviving right? - There are a lot of ways to survive life. But to me living is sometimes more than just simply surviving. And survival can mean more than just going thru the motions... It can mean more than just waking up everyday. It can more than just breathing. It could mean living a fulfilled and meaningful life in pursuit of real happiness and of everything you dream of. Whether you completely attain all your goals or not... at least you tried. It’s the journey that composes a life. - Let me tell you something which I'm sure you heard before but... SETTLING IS EASY. It’s easier to not try something that scares you. It’s easy to not put yourself out there. It’s easy to go with the flow and do what people expect of you. THATS ALL EASY. You can survive life without trying. People do it every single day. They don’t know any better, they’ve never experienced anything different and they’ve never stepped so much out of their comfort zone to know that the world is bigger than they had imagined. - I don’t believe in luck. I believe that if you want something you have to work hard and chase it fiercely and in order to get it. I believe that no dream is too big and no goal is unobtainable. I believe that you make your own luck, your own destiny, your own life and your own happiness. You have the power to create anything you want for yourself and if you don't like something you have the power to change it. Whoever is in favor of more recipes raise your hand ‍♀️ - 3 ingredient Protein Crepes WHAT YOU NEED: * 1 scoop @LIVBODY PROTEIN * 1 BANANA * 2 EGG WHITES /1 EGG - WHAT TODO: Mix all ingredients. Pour 1/4 cup of batter into frying pan on medium/high heat. When tiny bubbles start to appear at the surface, flip crepe. When finished cooking place flat on plate and fill with your favorite sweet filling! Here I used berries and strawberries and drizzled the top with sugar free syrup. What is your “feel good” activity? ... Is it lifting weights, yoga, crossfit, running, playing sports, pilates or is it something else? What gets your endorphins flowing.. What activity makes you feel good...? - Working out stresses your system, so your brain pumps out endorphins to cope. But because no two bodies produce the same amount of endorphins in response to stimuli, there's no way to tell exactly how much exercise you need to bring on an endorphin high. To find your happy place, do a mood check the next time you do an activity... on a scale from one (not happy at all) to 10 (completely high on life). Increase intensity until that number goes up!! #10yearchallenge Cardio girl to weight lifting queen. My own transformation 100lbs to 130lbs! I mean this should be a eyebrow transformation also but that’s another story lol 🤣 - Looking back at old photos, I'm so proud of the hard work I dedicated to myself. Through my physique transformation, I also changed my outlook on life to be more positive, I became more optimistic and I now pursue a life more purposeful, where I wake up everyday and want to better my best. Through my very own transformation, I learned a lot about myself. While testing my strengths through my struggles... It taught me to learn from mistakes, to grow from my failures and to always persevere. - All these 10 year challenge transformation photos should show you that anything is possible. When I first started my own fitness journey, I saw a photo of a girl who lifted weights and I said to myself- "I want a body like that" So I flipped the switch and turned on the fire inside of me, I set a goal and let nothing get in my way. Never did I ever think it would lead me to be the strong, fearless and independent woman that I am today. I gradually started and still continue to achieve things that I never thought were possible... And I truly owe this to the gym. FITNESS SAVED MY LIFE.
