Which one of us would mind to visit this place at least once: to clink glasses with Andy Warhol to admire Sylvester Stallone’s tuxedo, to dance till dawn to Donna Summer or to get crazy over beautiful 16-year-old Brooke Shields ⠀ I’m talking about the iconic spot of the 1970’s - legendary club Studio 54 🕺 Even if it’s not possible to party there anymore, it doesn’t stop you from throwing a Studio 54-style party in your closet. ⠀ At this NYFW, Michael Kors was clearly nostalgic about those troublemaking parties of the 70’s, and his collection featured feathers, faux fur and sequins along with smokings, knitted dresses and trench coats Michael Kors remembers that at Studio 54 you could come across anyone - from Nan Kempner to a simple guy from the street. So, his new collection features clothes for every taste. On the catwalk, chevron-patterned coats were presented alongside voluminous fur coats, asymmetrical western-style floral dresses were beautifully paired up with colourful feather boas, and the three-piece trouser suits were replaced by sequin-embroidered tiny dresses. ⠀ This fashion extravaganza was accompanied by Barry Manilow’s hit Copacabana and a surprise appearance of the legendary 70’s model Patti Hansen. All this makes this evening another contribution to the cult of the 1970 ‍♀ Guys, do like this collection? What do you think about the hype around Studio 54? ⠀ #michaelkors #ny #nyfw #disco #studio54

My ordinary day during NYFW in numbers: ⠀ 1 Michael Kors show and 47 videos taken during the show (I don’t even count the number of photos – usually there’re over 50); ⠀ ‍♂️ 9 meetings in different parts of Manhattan. It’s great that I’ve learned how to grab a taxi as a true New-Yorker and generally know the island quite well which makes travelling around pretty efficient; ⠀ 🤳 28 WhatsApp chats which are buzzing with activity (Around 50 are less active or are just hanging there). A drawback of an international business is that work doesn’t stop for an hour, due to time zones differences; ⠀ I travelled an average of 47 km from downtown to uptown. As I was sat in a taxi, I managed to send materials to 3 fashion magazines, drink 4 cups of coffee and organize 1 shoot. ⠀ And how did you spend your day? ⠀ #ny #newyork #business #fashion #busy

New York out and about! Honestly do not enjoy this city during the fashion week and winter time! But I was thinking to move here for a couple of month in March to open my @fashiontomax production company here! Do you think it’s a good idea? Have you been to NYC? (Yes/No) // photo by @byoliren

I have not worked as a photographer for a long time and have not held a professional camera in my hands for quite a while. But old habits don't die, plus my phone is always with me That’s why I still don’t miss a single moment, especially when such beauties as @CindyBruna and @Golden_Barbie who I adore, pose for me at the @boss show. ⠀ What do you think about such shooting format? Should I keep it up? Leave your «yes» or «no» comments below ⠀ #nyfw #fashion #michaelkors

HOW TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL? It’s one of the most popular questions in my Direct ⠀ Last night I met @mickey_rourke, whose biography can perfectly illustrate the answer to my question ⠀ Never give up if you want to become successful ⠀ Let’s have a look: The lack of money never stopped him. Rourke moved to New York from his native Miami, with only $400 in his pocket; ⠀ He believed in himself and his talent, and fortune, as they say, favours the bold, so Mickey entered the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute the first time he tried, while Dustin Hoffman tried eight times, and only the fifth try turned out to be successful for Jack NicholsonHe pursued his goal, and in order to pay for his studies, Rourke cleaned the pools and did some part-time work as a bouncer in a barAnd then he happened to be at the right time in the right place. In 1978, Steven Spielberg spotted him on set and gave him a small role in his film 1941. That was the start of his active creative life ⠀ So, guys, why keep finding excuses? Maybe it’s time to start making your dream a reality? Photo by @tarnphoto @billionaireinternational #mickeyrourke #philippplein #ny #fashion #fw #nyfw

Before the show @prabalgurung called his collection “Suitcases of the World”🧳 The Nepalese-American designer spent almost as much time on the road last year as he did at home in New York which was definitely reflected on the runway ⠀ He visited Kathmandu, India, China, looked at a nomad and immigrant’s life as if through his own eyes, and concluded that “We are more alike than we are different.” ⠀ To prove the point, his models were walking up and down the runway in quilted duvet coats, bombers, hippie jackets with hand-painted Taj Mahal landscapes, and the designer spiced it all up with the ladylike sophistication of Seventies-era Bill Blass, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Lacroix This multi-coloured collage once again showed that Gurung is one of New York’s best colourists ⠀ His evening dresses with floral embroideries, matte jerseys and ostrich feather trim were a real feast for the eyes It seems that Gurung’s “Suitcases of the World” contained more than one collection ⠀ Guys, what do you think about the show? ⠀ Video by me and my iPhone 🤳#prabalgurung #fw #nyfw #ny #fashion #newyork

Sometimes it happens that from being a regular guest of a show I turn into a journalist @fashiontomax will soon feature a series of mini-interviews with people who each of us would like to ask about something ⠀ Today at the @toryburch show, I was so lucky to catch @KarolinaKurkova for a quick word, and I’m really pleased how lively our chat turned out to be (swipe to check our small talk)🤤 It doesn’t surprise me at all, since every time we meet, her smile works its magic on me ⠀ Guys, if you were me, who would you interview and what would you ask? ⠀ #karolinakurkova #interview #fashionweek #toryburch #ny #nyfw #newyork

FASHIONABLY LATE OR RUDE? ⠀ During a Fashion Week, virtually no show starts on time. A delay of 15–20 minutes from the time stated in the invitation is quite common and follows etiquette. ⠀ But if the beginning of the show is delayed by more than thirty minutes – it’s mauvais ton which will the designer and the brand be reminded of this for a long time. For example, Marc Jacobs learned his lesson once after a long delay and has since become a paragon of punctuality His shows begin precisely to the minute, he is almost as punctual as @ysl (btw, I was only 10 minutes late for his last show, so I missed it and I still regret it). But last season @marcjacobs show was an hour and a half late due to some technical hitches (although you never know...) ⠀ Unfortunately, many editors and guests had to leave in a rush to catch a plane or attend other events before the show actually started. ⠀ During a Fashion Week it’s quite simple: even if you’re late, it should be fashionably so. ⠀ Guys, are you often late? ⠀ #fashion #fashionweek #punctuality #late

WHO IS TOM FORD? I think everyone understands that in the world of high fashion there’s no nepotism ‍♂ or lucky ones who made it to the top for their beautiful eyes Each Creative Directors of a major brand is a person with a fascinating biography, extraordinary diligence and great talent. ⠀ @tomford is a great example He enrolled in the Parsons School of Design, studying architecture but in his final year he suddenly decided to switch to fashion. ⠀ Then in 1990, Ford landed the role of Womenswear Designer for Gucci He ascended quickly through the company's ranks, rising to Creative Director in 1994. And that happened for a good reason! Ford managed to increase the fashion house’s annual sales after a lengthy period of recession ⠀ Tom Ford has been in the fashion industry for 30 years. ⠀ Did you know that he got an Oscars nomination for A Single Man (2009) and Nocturnal Animals (2016)? ⠀ And finally, here is the fact which never ceases to amaze me. Guess how old Tom is? At 57, doesn’t he look stunning? @jeanlondondia x @fashiontomax ⠀ #tomford #nyfw #ny #fashion #fashiondesigner

BAGUETTE IS BACK! 🥖 ⠀ Yesterday I was sipping cocktails with my friends @GalaGonzalez and @CamilaCoutinho in celebration of one of the most iconic bags of all times by Fendi 🥂 Fendi Baguette bag was created by the brand’s famed creative director Sylvia Venturini Fendi in 1997 and has since become a must-have accessory in fashionistas’ wardrobes Today there’re over a thousand variations of Fendi Baguette bag Baguette has become so popular that it has made it to the list of the most iconic accessories of the 1990s. And we’ve all fallen in love with it after Sex and the City, haven’t we? In 2012 the brand even published a book with around 250 colour photos of the bag in all its glory. This is yet another proof that the bag has become more than just a must-have item - it’s become a cultural phenomenon. ⠀ I wish there was a male version of baguette bag. Although, thinking about it, shall we set a new trend? What do you reckon? Photo by @gabrielccorreia ⠀ #fendi #baguettebag #fashion #nyfw #fendibaguette #baguettefriendsforever

Ralph Lauren is undoubtedly a legend Last year the brand celebrated its 50th anniversary and his presence on the runway in the show finale was particularly touching So here I’d like to share with you a few interesting facts about this great designer: ⠀ When he was twelve, Ralph spent all his savings on an elegant three-piece suit to look more stylish; ⠀ It was @ralphlauren who became a pioneer of home clothing in the fashion industry; ⠀ If you try to search for an interview with the designer, you will most likely fail to find anything current. He did his first interview for the last 20 years on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 Have you watched it? ⠀ Ralph Lauren is a member of several animal rights organisations; ⠀ Do you like The Great Gatsby movie? If yes, then you definitely like @ralphlauren style as the designer outfitted the male cast of the Hollywood classic in his costumes 🕺 ⠀ Guys, do you know an interesting fact about the brand and it’s creator? ⠀ #ralphlauren #fashionbrand #ny #nyfw

A very intimate breakfast at NYFW with @ralphlauren in the brand's flagship store on Madison Avenue ⠀ In 2016, Ralph Loren switched to the See Now Buy Now concept and now you don’t need to wait for six months after the show to buy your favourite garment. That’s why this breakfast format fits perfectly into the new concept. ⠀ My production company @fashiontomax has been working with @ralphlauren for a long time, and I must say that it’s always a pleasure to work with this team and be a part of their creative ideas not only on set, but also as a guest of the show. ⠀ I just love it when you can see the collection at arm's length. As well as models @bellahadid in a golden shimmering dress, which reminded me of Marilyn Monroe’s legendary number, was absolutely charming. And what a wonderful surprise it was to see @sashapivovarova on the catwalk again🤤 ⠀ Friends, which look do you prefer? BREAKFAST AT RALPH LAUREN’S WITH @carodaur The @ralphlauren team have always been uber-creative when it comes to show formats. I still remember that evening when the brand took over the vast space of New York’s Central Park in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Today, the designer gathered guests in his boutique on Madison Avenue for a cozy breakfast of croissants and aromatic coffee 🥐 It brought back some fond memories of those shows where the models “lived” on the catwalk which was basically the space right next to the guests. @mingxi11, @anja_rubik, @joansmalls, @lovegrace_e, @taylor_hill, @belahadid, @mxlunaa walked around tables giving us an amazing opportunity to admire the collection at arm's length. One of my friends @dialamakki even said that I managed to catch a few models smile I definitely prefer this format to the grand-scale shows. And which do you like more? ph by @gabrielccorreia ⠀ #ralphlauren #fashionshow #nyfw #ny

I’VE MADE IT! ⠀ Despite the 7-hour flight delay and the fact that I’ve had a bad cold and high temperature, I still gathered all my strength and turned up in New York right before the start of the first @tomford show of the Fashion Week 🤤 ⠀ You might ask a logical question: why really bother for NYFW, which isn’t as grand the one in Paris? Well, it's simple, really - New York might not feature really big brands, but this is compensated by the guest list ⠀ These days most celebrities live in Manhattan, which makes the first row almost a red carpet: this time @karliekloss, @poppydelevigne, @richthekid @cameron1newton, @imsebastianstan, @carineroitfeld, @derekblasberg attended the show. ⠀ And New York shows after-parties are off the scale fantastic! ⠀ Friends, can you share some useful tips on how to quickly get over the cold and not to miss any of those legendary parties? @tarnphoto ⠀ #nyfw #tomford #fashion

WORKATION OR VACATION? ⠀ If I remember correctly, Tulum is the only place I can really let my hair down No chats, messages, calls and other stuff that I normally associate with working around the clock. ⠀ Tulum has got it all for a proper vacation and the Internet around here is lousy So I have a great excuse to slow down and chill without the interference of work issues. ⠀ Guys, do you work while on holiday? DON’T GO TO TULUM!🤪 ⠀ If you’ve never been to Tulum and now decided to fly there, then cancel the trip immediately! The thing is over the past seven years (since my first visit) Tulum has become so trendy that during the New Year holidays it was absolutely overflowing with visitors Needless to say, Instagram (including mine) has done the trick! ⠀ The tables in local restaurants are all reserved, every corner in yoga rooms is busy, hotels are fully booked, and the prices have risen by leaps and bounds🥺 So, if you have an alternative, don’t go to Tulum for the New Year hols. If you are dead set to spend your holidays there, then book the flights in low season: November, early December or March-April ⠀ That's the time to enjoy the silence, meditation, morning yoga and evening gatherings on the beach listening to lounge music🧘‍♂ If you’re a party animal and love crazy parties, I’d go for another holiday destination🕺 ⠀ So guys, who is seriously thinking about visiting Tulum after my posts? ⠀ #Tulum #travel #yoga

Hola amigos – I’m sending you my warmest greetings from hot Mexico again. I flew there as one of my New Year’s resolutions was to take more care of myself and my health I know just sending my greetings is a bit mean, so I’ve compiled a list of the coolest hotels in Tulum for you. If you there for the first time, you should definitely look at these places Be Tulum Hotel is for those who love hammocks and grey loft walls; ⠀ No made Tulum is a great place to chill and fill up your playlist with cool music for meditation; ⠀ Sanara Tulum is the place I've stayed recently. Perfect for those who are up with a lark starting their day with yoga enjoying the ocean view; ⠀ Casa Violeta is a bit simpler in design but it’s compensated for by its proximity to the shore (the bungalows are bang smack on the beach); ⠀ Habitas is an amazingly photogenic hotel. The private outside showers absolutely take a biscuit! ⠀ Azulik – I’m not sure the hotel is good value for money but it’s definitely worth snapping a couple of pics for Instagram there and get a lot of likes; ⠀ Casa Malca is a place for those who don’t want to part with the European lifestyle even in Tulum. Everything there feels like home: the furniture, the restaurant, and only the rooms with a beach remind you of where you actually are; ⠀ Nest Tulum is an excellent place for those who love simplicity in everything, but don’t want to sacrifice the standard of service. ⠀ Guys, have you stayed in any of these hotels? Share your experiences – let’s make your own guide around Tulum ⠀ #tulum #mexico #relax #meditation #beach #hotelslist

In New York, people tend not to beat about the bush. I noticed some time ago that from greetings New Yorkers immediately get down to business and try to find out who might be useful to each other and in what way 🤨 ⠀ For Europeans, such a rushed approach to networking usually seems a bit bold or even rude Europeans take time to observe and almost everyone is embarrassed to be assertive or to use someone in a positive way. The Big Apple leaves you no time for this embarrassment. And this mad rush is a great source of inspiration for me ⠀ Good working relations and connections which take ages to build in Europe, will bring great result in a couple of months of networking in New York. And in a year, they’ll help you to become rich and famous. Don’t forget about one good rule that works here, though: talent attracts talent ⠀ If you’re genuinely talented , then you’ll definitely succeed in New York. You are bound to come across some other talented people who’ll help, recommend you or even involve you in their projects. There’s only one condition: in New York you’ll be a winner if you are prepared to give as much as you take / if you are a giver, not a taker ‍♂ ⠀ Guys, what approach to networking do you prefer: the unhurried European or the American express version? ⠀ #networking #business #relations #ny

Meeting my old friend @chiaraferragni on @giambattistavalli show was similar to finding a real treasure . That evening the brand scattered genuine @Swarovski sequins all over the floor but Chiara who wore a pink designer evening dress before the show shone as the most precious stone. ⠀ I love the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris for those rare meetings and the opportunity to catch up properly, not reading the gossip from each other’s life in the news This year, by the way, Chiara joined the panel of expert jury of the sixth LVMH Prize for young designers together with @naomi, Aizel Trudel, CEO and founder of Russian aizel.ru, Aimee Song from Song of Style, founder of Hypebeast Kevin Ma and others. ⠀ Chiara, my congratulations and I’m really looking forward to seeing you again! #chiaraferragni #giambattistavalli #fashion #parisfashionweek #hautecouture

Spend your first day in New York with the right person. ⠀ I was lucky because that was exactly what happened to me nine years ago. In a Milan showroom where I worked at the time, I met @lecnyc the true New-Yorker who introduced me to the real life in New York. I dread to think what impression the city would have made on that rainy week, if I hadn’t been shown it from a different, not touristy prospective. On that trip, I barely slept, tried to get by with my random mix of English and Italian, but I immediately felt as if I belong there. ⠀ Ten years later, but I still have this feeling and I always come back to New York as if it’s my home: this is where my friends, my favourite restaurants and the new stage of development of my production company @fashiontomax are ⠀ Who knows, maybe in ten years’ time I’ll settle down in NY ‍♂ ⠀ Guys, who is your favourite travel-partner? HOW TO GET TO THE HAUTE COUTURE FASHION WEEK IN PARIS? ⠀ Ok, the guest list is clear: to get to the “Couture” Fashion Week, you should be a client of one of the fashion houses that holds the show or be a category A guest. But what about the brands? ⠀ I made a list of requirements that a brand must follow in order to be considered “haute couture”, but one of them is false ‍♂ ⠀ Guess which of these has been made up? ⠀ The brand's atelier employs at least three people full-time, but the production itself may be based in any city around the world. Any Haute Couture collection has at least 50 original designs, of both day and evening garments. The collections are presented twice a year, in January and July. All Haute Couture dresses are exclusive, made for an individual client, the number of machine seams doesn’t exceed 30%, all the décor and finishing follow the traditional high fashion practices. Only about 2,000 women worldwide can pride themselves in being the clients of an Haute Couture brand. The price of garments usually starts from 15K Euros, but some exclusive pieces of fashion art can cost up to several million. For example, Jennifer Lawrence’s Oscars 2013 Couture gown by Dior cost whopping four million dollars. ⠀ So, are there any experts in how the world of Haute Couture works? Can you guess which of the points I’ve made up? ⠀ #fashion #hautecouture #fashionbrand #couturehouse
