Who else starts their day with porridge?! Every morning I have ~50g of porridge oats with a handful of berries a sprinkle of seeds 🥜 & a dusting of cinnamon 🥄. Powering out an N-sit hold on the rings with @skiteamswedenapline one of many drills they put me through This is a deceptively brutal exercise which requires serious all round strength including #core strength, strong triceps, shoulder strength, as well as the smaller stabilisers The benefits include defined triceps, chiselled abs, shoulder health as well as functional core strength How to? 1️⃣ If you don't have rings try the dip bars.  2️⃣ Here, we started off squatting on the box below. That way you can carefully get into position, find the technique & the comfortably & securely get into position. It eliminates having to jump & quickly try to correct your technique.  3️⃣ Position yourself between the rings, set shoulder-width apart. Using a firm, neutral grip, push your body off the ground, locking your elbows as if you’re at the top of a dip exercise. Make sure to keep your shoulders down as you bend your knees, & hold up your thighs, hold your legs together, forming a N sit.  4️⃣ How long can you hold it for? #fitin3 #fitnessotoast #abs #exercise #workout #fitness

🥔The humble spud 🥔 Simple but so delicious - this dish I've pictured is just baby potato, a pinch of sea salt & a sprig of dill (serve hot or cold) perfect on a summers day; In a salad 🥗 or as a side The potato is often harshly demonised for being bland & starchy, but they're full of nutrients As a rich carbohydrate source, they provide a superb dose of energy, & help to keep you feeling full Plus they're surprisingly rich in immune-boosting Vitamin C; a medium sized potato (150g) with the skin provides 27mg, almost half of the recommended daily intake! Hip thrusters (with or without weight) are a great way of targeting the gluteus & making the connection to ‘firing them up’. Strong glutes help you run faster ‍♀️, jump higher, or lift heavier️; these are all functions which help us to go about our daily business without having to think or worry about it. Activating the gluteus can sometimes seem tricky Sitting for hours a day, the glutes have been ‘asleep’ for so long & therefore activating them can be harder than it sounds. If you’re having trouble engaging your glutes, give this exercise a go. Even just using your own bodyweight at high reps can help isolate the glutes & activate them! How to?? 🤷‍♀️ 1️⃣Start by sitting on the ground with your back against a bench. 2️⃣Place a barbell directly above your hips. You may want to use a barbell pad to reduce any discomfort you might feel from the bar. 3️⃣Starts by pushing up through your feet. Your hips extending your hips vertically through the bar. 4️⃣The weight should be supported through your shoulders and toes. Squeeze your glutes at the top. 5️⃣Then slowly return to starting position. ️Ensure you engage your core throughout & avoid arching your back to compensate. Tilt your pelvis forward as your lifting up. This way you're really targeting your gluteus. Always start with a lighter weight to get used to the technique. If it's your first time aim for high reps & see how you feel the next day. It might be more effective than you think! #fitin3 #fitnessotoast

What's for dinner?! How about some 'WILD MUSHROOM & SPELT RISOTTO' any memories of risotto will likely conjure sensations of richness, fullness of flavour & possibly excessive amounts of deliciousness... with that in mind I wanted to create something that delivered the same hit of flavour but without the risotto oblivion. This spelt risotto delivers a nutty 🥜 appeal bursting with healthy flavour. You'll need: 15g porchini mushroom, 1 tbsp. Olive oil, 1 onion chopped, 125g chestnut mushrooms, sliced, 1tsp. Dried thyme, 140g pearled spelt, rinsed, 2 garlic cloves, chopped, 🥕Good quality low-salt veg stock, 25g walnut halves, 2leeks thinly sliced, 40g soft goats cheese, Pinch of salt & pepper. 🤷‍♂️How to? 🤷‍♀️ 1️⃣soak the dried porcini in 125ml water just-boiled water for 20min. 2️⃣when the porcini mushrooms are 15min into their soaking start preparing risotto. 3️⃣heat the olive oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan & fry the onion & chestnut mushrooms for 5min until softened. Add a bit of water if it gets to dry. 4️⃣strain the porcini, saving the soaking liquor, tip them into the pan & fry for another 5min until the mushrooms all start to go golden. 5️⃣stir the thyme, garlic & spelt into the pan & cook for 1min, stirring before adding the stock & reserved porcini liquor. 6️⃣bring up to the boil, then turn the heat down to medium-low & cook, part covered with the liquid & stirring often, for 25min until spelt grains are tender but have a bit of a bite. 7️⃣add more stock, if needed, or take of the lid if the risotto is too wet. Taste and season w/ salt & pepper. 8️⃣just before the risotto is ready, toast the walnuts Ina frying pan for a few min then leave them to cool& roughly chop. 9️⃣steam the leeks for 4-5min or until tender. Spoon the risotto into serving bowl & top with leeks, walnuts & goats cheese! #fitnessotoast #fitin3

Pistol squats Mastering the pistol squat can be a challenge. It requires a good amount of balance, leg strength, flexibility & coordination works the #core #legs & #gluteus The legs contain the largest & most powerful muscles in the human body which makes this move pretty tough! Getting started! A good tip is to building up to the pistol squats is to perform the pistol while assisting yourself by holding on to an object. It involves neither water nor nudity but instead is a mindfulness movement the idea is to strip away ‘artificial’ noise, beat or structure on a random wander through sonorous space & timeThe sound baths are instead used as instruments or tools to help create ‘a shift in the participant’s consciousness’Each crystal bowl is said to represent the energy centers or ‘Chakras‘ of the bodyThe sound is meant to nourish (or at least ‘excite’) the nervous system & essentially allow you to switch off & relax Possibly sounds a bit trippy & believe what you wish but in my experience you leave feeling utterly relaxed ! #fitnessotoast #soundbaths

Lower-Back Twist This movement helps to stretch your lower back & your glutes, which can tighten when you're experiencing lower back pain. This in turn, can cause more pain. 🤷‍♂️ HOW TO? 🤷‍♀️ Start by lying on your back with your knees bent & feet flat on the floor. Extend your arms out to the side in a "T" position. Keep your shoulders on the ground as you gently roll both knees to one side. Stay on each side for a few seconds or for as long as you feel comfortable then return to the starting position & repeat on the other side Tip! If the stretch is uncomfortable try placing a pillow under your knees when you twist to each side
