last night: the 5th annual TAC talent show. @rachelantonoff and i thank you. to everyone who came out - i know those tickets were not cheap but every dollar goes to LGBTQ youth and proud to say we raised 200k last night. thank you to all artists who came together to make this happen. @jacnov @chrislaker @lanadelrey @hayleykiyoko @taylorswift @matsor @mitskileaks @reginaspektor @andrewdost @thesheertruth ::: last night felt like we have really got this tradition to good place. excited for next year. loved every minute of that show — phots by @danielgsilbert

here it is! the 5th annual @allycoalition talent show. all proceeds go to homeless LGBT youth centers such as new alternatives in NYC and ruth ellis center in detroit. we’ve been working with these centers for years now and what they do is vital. let’s get together this night and support the 40 percent of homeless youth who are LGBT and need services and shelter. i’m so proud to be doing it again at town hall :: see you all on 12/5! got some surprises as well —- also, pretty sure we can get rachel to continue the tradition of taking an edible before hosting. ticket info and link in stories — @mitskileaks @reginaspektor @andrewdost @lanadelrey @thesheertruth @jacnov @bleachersmusic @matsor @hayleykiyoko

10/5/18 i loved this event. thank you to @andrewmarantz for the best interview and conversation i can remember. one day i will do a full tour with just a piano in small theatres and take apart the songs and talk about them. “new jersey’s finest new yorker”

@rachelantonoff 🤩🤩🤩 “Vacation dressing (and the whimsy that comes with it) has become a big inspiration at NYFW this season. Rachel Antonoff’s take is not your expected beach dresses and tropical prints, however. The designer looked to off-duty-dad style icons—see Clark Griswold and her own dad, Ricky—finding both a funky freedom and a serious functionality in the way dads dress on holiday: you know, the whole Hawaiian-shirt-with-cargo-shorts look. Antonoff is meeting both needs with her Spring 2019 collection. On one end of the spectrum, there is a practical fanny pack in butter yellow, a color-blocked anorak with coordinating sport shorts, and a utility jumpsuit in tomato red. On the other, maxi skirts and bra tops in a custom prawn print, a lilac tie-dye wrap dress with a little flou, and separates in a 16-bit pattern inspired by the computer game The Oregon Trail. Antonoff photographed these pieces on model Camilla Deterre on a staycation around Times Square. She poses in a souvenir shop, takes a late lunch at Sardi’s (a portrait of Antonoff’s brother, Jack, hangs in the background), and smiles broadly with various groups of tourists. While other designers harped on the fantasy of vacation, the far-flung daydreams of sandy shores or imagined palazzos, Antonoff has wisely set her holiday at home. The reality is, of course, that women need something to wear the 50 weeks they are not on vacation—and that something should make them exactly as happy as they would be standing on the boardwalk, eating Italian ice, and not checking their emails.”

shadow of the city 8.25.18 back at home now. took yesterday off to recover. something about that entire day that just makes me fall apart in all the best ways. i want to thank you for saturdays festival (or block party or bleachercon or whatever this thing is turning into. i don’t know what it is i just now it has to be). bottom line is it matters so much to all of us who are there which is not something that happens quickly or easily. shadow of the city is 4 years in and this past saturday i felt something coming together i had only be dreaming of. seeing all of you come from all over the world to a place that is central to my music gave me some great strength. gave me confidence to keep things in motion. this thing that bring us together -its vital for me and i know for you as well to have a place we can come together and deal with the intensity of being out there trying to find a way to feel good. —— a little more: the songs are what i have to show for the darkest moments ive known. the shows are the ritual in which we come together to celebrate life beyond that darkness in each of us respectively. thats not something i take lightly and i know you don’t either. thanks for shadow of the city and thanks for everything leading up to. ill be in the studio and home writing the next few months to figure out how to say everything this time around. a lot has changed, a lot to say. its probably way more simple than i can understand yet

boston. to every person who came out and stood in the rain for hours —- you push us so hard and it’s shows like yesterday where it almost doesn’t happen that make it all the more important. driving up there and not being sure if we’d get to play / getting calls from our crew that kids were there since 10am in the rain —- it gives us this feeling like we want to make every second the last second on earth. i love playing in your city. thanks for making it a place where bleachers can cut loose. day off today /— then back to the studio then prep for shadow of the city.
